Garage Door
Off The Tracks
A door off its track is not a door. It's a very heavy wall decoration.
If your door jumped its tracks, is hanging crooked, or is stuck halfway, stop pressing the button. We straighten it out, figure out what caused it, and fix that too. You get the price before we start.
Stop Using The Opener. Seriously.
This is the part people get wrong, and it's the part that turns a quick fix into a much bigger one.
When a door comes off its track, the opener doesn't know that. It keeps pulling. That's how a simple off-track turns into bent tracks, snapped cables, a burned-out opener, or a cracked panel. If your door is crooked, stuck, or making noises it has never made before, unplug the opener and call us.
What to do right now
- Unplug the opener so nobody "tries it one more time"
- Don't pull the red release cord on a door that's off track or under tension
- Keep kids, pets and cars out from under it
- Don't try to lift it by hand — the weight is not where you think it is
- Call us and we'll tell you what it'll cost before we start

Doors Don't Jump
The Track For Fun
An off-track door is almost always a symptom, not the disease. Fixing the track without fixing the cause just means we see you again in a month. Here's what actually causes it:
The usual suspects
- Something hit it. A bumper, a trailer hitch, a basketball hoop. Most common cause by a mile.
- A cable snapped or came loose. One side drops, the door racks sideways and walks out of the track.
- Broken or worn rollers. Rollers seize, flat-spot, or the stems bend, and the door climbs out.
- Loose or bent track. Brackets back out over the years, the track drifts, the door finds the gap.
- A broken spring. The door gets very heavy very fast and comes down hard and crooked.
What we actually do
- Secure the door so it can't drop while we work
- Get it back in the track and re-seat the rollers
- Check tracks for bends and straighten or replace what's damaged
- Inspect cables, drums and springs — because one of them probably started this
- Re-balance the door and test the opener's force and reverse
- Tell you what caused it, in plain English
Price First. Always.
Every off-track job is quoted before we touch anything. If the door came off because a cable snapped or a spring broke, that gets quoted too — and you approve the number first.
What we check
- Rollers & tracks — bent, worn or out of alignment
- Cables — frayed, snapped or off the drum
- Springs — broken or out of balance
- Opener — force and limit settings
- Panels — creased or cracked sections
